Don't be fooled by the name of Cobra Tea & Dessert. This place is a hidden gem that is so worth visiting for especially if you're a sushi snob like me. Let me start with their fish quality which is toe-to-toe with Manhattan $150-250 omakase courses (they charged $79). The temperature and proportion of their fish and rice are perfect. Creativity is superb and a dessert to die for. Please do yourself a favor and try their omakase. You will thank me later.

The wife and I just got home from the omakase experience with Chef Rudy. Absolutely mind-blowing. I literally have zero criticisms and easily rate the meal in my top five. Cannot wait to go back!

I’m a regular and I go every week for reference so I’m credible :) It’s literally the best sushi I’ve ever tried and worth the $20-$30 dollars. Even the boba is top tier. Rudy and Nikki put so much care into their craft and it easily beats out any other Boba/omakase/sushi places I’ve been too. Jeannette N got nothing on this place…haters gon hate. They also made me a custom gluten free ube coconut cream birthday cake with fresh strawberries and always go above and beyond for their customers

We had the Omakase with chef Rudy and it was amazing. Fantastic quality at an amazing price. Menu says this is the July/August special ($79 for 12 pieces plus an appetizer and dessert). We will be back many times.

I love bubble tea but it's the omakase that drew me here. I was able to make a reservation the week of, Nikki manages the phones and is wonderful. We were greeted by Rudy the chef. He is very experienced and knowledgeable. We loved getting to know him throughout the experience. Every single course that came out was a hit. My favorites were the ones that would just melt in your mouth from how perfectly they were prepared. The flavors were incredible. I love the little bit of zesty-ness he brings to his dishes as well. Loved it so much, I already made my next reservations. This is a great hole in the wall gem you should check out.

**5 Stars – Sushi That'll Put You on a Bullet Train to Decadence (With a Layover in Japan)** From the outside, this little restaurant in Caldwell looks like the kind of place you'd second-guess walking into. Definitely not where you'd expect a life-changing sushi experience—but that's exactly what we got. We did the full chef experience, and wow—this wasn’t just a dinner, it was a culinary adventure. The chef personally served us each piece, like tiny gifts of joy, straight from his magical hands to our taste buds. The fish? Mostly flown in from Japan and so fresh I’m convinced it had frequent flyer miles. Faroe Island salmon, delicate scallops, Japanese mackerel, truffle, black beluga caviar... at one point I stopped trying to identify everything and just surrendered to the bliss. First bite in, and it was like being launched onto a bullet train to Tokyo—with a layover in umami heaven. One piece of sushi in and you forget you're in a small restaurant in the least likely corner of Caldwell. Michelin? I love it. But this went far beyond. It had that intimate, familial vibe, like the chef was cooking for friends, not customers. And yes—I proposed here. Because when you're already on cloud nine, why not make it official? Trust me: don’t judge a sushi spot by its storefront. Get in, sit down, and prepare to have your soul gently escorted out of your body by a piece of mackerel.

I’ve been meaning to update my review since my first visit, and today’s the day! I absolutely love Cobra Tea. Every item I’ve tried here has been amazing, but the standouts for me are still the coconut pandan caramel latte. I’d also highly recommend the ube latte, watermelon lychee, and ube cloud. It’s also a fantastic spot for a snack or lunch. So far, I’ve had the spicy tuna crispy rice, unagi don, negi toro don, tuna flight don, toast naka, and the real coconut pudding – all absolutely delicious. If you're looking for an exceptional experience (though a bit pricier), you must try their omakase. It’s by reservation only, and totally worth it. The first time I went, we had around 18 courses, and I returned just this past Friday for their 14-course Valentine's special. They hit it out of the park every time. Not only is the food and drinks incredible, but the owners, Rudy and Nikki, offer top-notch service. They’re incredibly kind and endlessly creative with the dishes, desserts, and drinks they create. Their innovative flavor combinations really show their deep understanding of flavor, and their passion for their craft is evident in everything they do. I’ll never stop recommending Cobra Tea – 100000/10, always! == Love the coconut pandan iced caramel latte!

I was blown away by my experience eating at Cobra Tea!! I had the 15 course omakase. I have been to many omakase spots in NYC and Chef Rudy goes above and beyond in flavor, creativity, and experience. I love the small, unique ingredients he adds to each course that still maintain the flavor of the fish but take it to the next level. Not only is the food amazing, but Rudy genuinely cares about his customers. He demonstrates his expertise and passion right in front of you with so much warmth and friendliness it felt like talking with a friend despite just meeting him for the first time. The yogurt made by Nikki is so creamy and like none I have had before. I would come back just for the yogurt lol. Amazing hospitality and quality food and drinks. Stop by because they are truly the best!!!💫⭐️💕

Omakase was well worth. Rudy's also friendly and easily engages in conversation with the group. It was a fifteen course meal and every piece was delicious. Some of the flavor combinations were really amazing, his piece with the homemade chili sauce is genius. Dessert this time was a coconut melon parfait, and it was honestly to die for, Nikki is amazing. Rudy has enough showmanship to keep things interesting, but makes sure it doesn't get too crazy so it still feels cozy and intimate. It was really perfect as a holiday meal. Super happy to have a lovely omakase spot nearby.

Delicious, friendly, and wonderful omakase! An exceptional, fun, and unexpected dinner with Rudy the chef welcoming you as a yet-to-be-met friend and a handful of other adventurous guests who want to try an explosion of fun flavors and textures. The combinations are so unexpected and yummy, and the environment is warm and wonderful. This isn’t a perfectly polished menu, but it’s an absolute delight. Highly recommend if you enjoy sushi and surprises. Also, omg, the dessert was fabulous. I need to come back for the lunch!
